Gin Rummy Game Rules
There are different types of rummy games being played over centuries.
This game originated in China and became famous in the West until the
early 20th century. It is known as draw and discard games but the main
objective of it is just to collect matching cards either in sequence or
in order and at the end of the game it will be gathered into sets to be
discarded or to be counted.
Rummy games can be simple, there is a game called basic rummy or just
rummy itself which can be complicated sometimes as its objective is just
to meld an entire hand into groups and then discard the melds as quickly
as possible.
In South America there's a version of rummy being played in Argentina,
and it is called Loba (meaning 'she-wolf') their own version of the game
is that the players score points for the melds they make and lose points
for cards remaining in hand at the end of the play. The many points they
can get the more chances of winning.
Three Thirteen is another version of rummy game played by the Americans.
A number of cards dealt to each player differs every round and there is
different wild card in each round. The cards being dealt determines
which card is the wild card. There's another version of the game which
is called contract rummy that is actually played in the same way as
basic rummy, the difference is that in each round, the players melds
have to conform to a specific contract.
